One question I have though. I'm trying to edit the message within the warning dialogue box, but it appears to be entirely vector based objects, rather than a text field. How would you recommend that I best alter the text of any of the buttons/dialogue windows?

You can delete the text object and place your own text.
But if it is too important for you, you can buy Game GUI Pack 2 for changeable texts.
Also you can wait for updates. we are going to redesign the Whole GUI Pack for more features like changeable texts.
